Exotic Matter has properties that shouldn't exist—negative energy density, stable at room temperature, capable of warping space-time locally. It's the material that makes impossible technologies possible: stable wormholes, gravity manipulation, things that rewrite the rules. Creating it requires understanding physics at a level humanity is only beginning to approach.
